I remember as a kid of ten in 1997, obsessed with all things space and hearing about the probe “we” had landed on Mars, the Mars Pathfinder mission, and the little robot ‘ Sojourner’, thinking this is the greatest thing we had ever done. You don’t really get a sense of it until you sit back and look at where we once were and where we are now. I ended on day 12 hour 18 with 3 bio domes, 1 starport and 2 landing pads.Technology has progressed at warp speed over the last few decades. I got this achivement on my first starport atlantis attempt. despite the fact that the process is slow going because you will need to trade your coins for other stuff that you can't produce like spares, metal or bioplastic, you should be able to make it right before the deadline. What you plant in your bio dome is your only source of income. the "almost" part is you have no factory which means no prossesed goods. You get no more colonists, other than that it's almost a normal game. So since the starport is really close to the airlock, close the airlock when a visitor ship lands and if they drop off a bunch of "visitors" who seem to be at 100 % health, hunger, hydration, oxygen, sleep and morale, keep the airlock closed and if you see the visitor needs lower than 100%, open the airlocks.express starport is not "impossible". That can take some time and if you identify intruders and don't close airlocks in time, I think you're screwed. You can't identify intruders early unless you click on them and see if they really are intruder or visitor. The problem over intruders from visitor ships over intruders from colonist ships is the intruders blend in well so you don't know if they are intruders or real visitors quickly. The colonist ships are disabled so they will come in the visitor ships. Intruders especially can be a really bad threat in this challenge (no guards, factory is disabled so no guns and no control center).
PLANETBASE MORALE CODE
BEWARE, this line of code is not in the challenge allthough it should be After that, keep allowing visitors until you stockpile enough coins. I'm also not sure if there are enough biologists to handle significantly more food production. Food got a little thin here and there - it might be better to build a bigger biodome but that may tax resources too much. I hit 1000 coins around day 13 and there was definitely room for improvement of my facility. Spares ran out just before I hit 1000 so I never needed to buy any. However, I'm not sure this would be needed if you don't build a multi-dome. Regarding trading, I only sold excess starch once in a while and I did buy a little plastic and metal in the beginning to build some of the facilities. You want visitors to come rest and drink and leave coins as quickly as possible. I know we're all thinking it.)Īfter setting things up I just hit x 4 speed and monitored the landing pads and space port, usually immediately dismissing trade ships. (I suspect that they would also be interested in something else, but we'll have to see if they come up with a brothel in dlc. It seems that weary space travelers are only interested in sleeping, eating and drinking. I also added a small multi-dome with a bench and an exercise bar but I believe that this was a complete waste as I never saw anyone using it. I added one medium wind turbine to supplement power later in the game.
PLANETBASE MORALE TV
I also included a tv and a plant.Īir and water should be fine. I added a plant as well.Īdd a bar with at least one large table and a drink machine. Build a cabin instead and load it with beds - at least four.Īdd a TV to the canteen and make sure there is a water fountain. (I think I used wheat and onions but not certain just add two items to balance what's already there.) (BTW, earning 1000 coins to complete the Starport Atlantis challenge will not count for the Capitalist achievement it seems what happens in challenges does not count towards any of the regular colony achievements.)Īdd two more food types to the bio-dome. The key is to focus on entertaining visitors to earn coins. This achievement is really not that difficult.
